How to make homemade beef jerky.

  1. Start by trimming any excess fat from the beef and cutting it into thin strips. The thinner the strips, the faster they will dry and the easier they will be to chew.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together all of the seasoning ingredients to create a marinade. Place the beef strips in a large resealable bag or container and pour the marinade over top. Mix well to ensure all of the beef is coated.beef jerky business

  3. Allow the beef to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 6-8 hours, or overnight for best results.

  4. Preheat your oven to the lowest setting, typically around 175-200 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the beef strips in a single layer on the sheet.

  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and dry the beef for several hours, checking and flipping the strips every 30 minutes or so to ensure even drying. The beef is ready when it is firm and slightly chewy, but still pliable.

  6. Once the beef jerky is dry, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer for long-term storage. Enjoy as a snack or as part of a trail mix or other outdoor meal.
