Smoked beef jerky recipe

To get started, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 pound of lean beef (we recommend using top round, sirloin, or flank steak)
  • 1/2 cup of low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Once you have all of your ingredients ready, it's time to get started.

Step 1: Cut the beef into thin slices (about 1/4 inch thick) and place them in a large bowl.

Step 2: In a separate bowl, mix together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the beef slices, making sure to coat them evenly.

Step 3: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (overnight is even better).

Step 4: Preheat your smoker to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the smoker is ready, place the beef slices on the racks, making sure to leave plenty of space between them.

Step 5: Smoke the beef for 3-4 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of tenderness.

Step 6: Once the jerky is finished, remove it from the smoker and let it cool completely.
